2019 Flag Raising Ceremony

The 2019 ALS Flag Raising Ceremony was held on Tuesday June 4^th, at City Hall, officially kicking off ALS Awareness Month. Deputy Mayor Marcus Chambers and Diana Rasmussen, Executive Director for ALS Society of Manitoba spoke at this symbolic ceremony, honouring people living with ALS and helping to spread awareness about programs and services available in Manitoba.

“Every day and month are special for people with ALS. June is ALS Awareness Month across Canada and here in Manitoba. This month will hopefully create more awareness about ALS through profiles and spotlights on activities. This is an opportunity to bring people together and highlight the needs of people with ALS”, says Diana Rasmussen, Executive Director of ALS Society of Manitoba.

Businesses light up in purple this June! Thank you to everyone who participated having their buildings lit up in purple; like RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg and the Merchants Hotel in Selkirk, MB, helping spread awareness in support of #ALSAwarenessMonth!
