Thank You, Winnipeg!
What an incredible day at Assiniboine Park—and what an amazing turnout! Nearly 1,000 people joined us for the Walk to End ALS, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Hosted by the ALS Society of Manitoba and ALS Canada, this inspiring event once again proved the strength of our community and our shared hope for a future without ALS.
We were fortunate to enjoy a beautiful day just before the rain arrived—perfect weather for the walk and the celebration that followed! A huge thank you to our guest MC Chris Caslake from CJNU 93.7 FM and to our Executive Director Diana Rasmussen for leading the festivities during the lively party on the pad.
The event kicked off on a powerful note with Liv, our talented bagpiper, who led walkers down the path in a stirring start to the morning. We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Wendy, who got everyone stretched and energized with a fun and uplifting warm-up session—you both helped set the tone for a fantastic day!
A special shout-out to everyone who took part in the Auction of Hope—your enthusiasm was contagious! Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to the generous prize donors who made the auction such a success. And of course, to our incredible volunteers: we couldn’t do it without you. Your time, energy, and dedication helped make this our biggest fundraiser of the year—you truly ROCK!
Thanks to your support:
60% of all funds raised stay right here in Manitoba to provide essential community-based services like equipment assistance, home visits, educational resources, and support groups.
The remaining 40% goes to the ALS Canada Research Program, and is matched by Brain Canada, doubling the impact and helping fund world-class ALS research.
To our sponsors—thank you for your generous contributions, whether financial or in-kind. Your support helps make events like this possible. We encourage everyone to support these amazing businesses when you can.
ALS Doesn’t Stop—and Neither Will We.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. Together, we’re making a difference.
With deep appreciation,
The ALS Society of Manitoba
