ALS Canada announced yesterday their most recent research investment of $1,475,000 towards nine 2022 Discovery Grants. We are thrilled to see that $125,000 went towards a research project being done right here in Winnipeg!
The Discovery Grants are funded through the ALS Canada Research Program, which is supported by ALS Canada donors including individual and corporate donors like Brain Canada and Dr. Jean-Pierre Canuel Fund – SLA Québec. Donors also include community-based fundraising events and participating provincial ALS Societies who contribute 40 per cent of net proceeds from the Walk to End ALS.
In 2023, funds raised through the Walk are again being earmarked for a match from Brain Canada and all matched funds will be invested into ALS research in 2023.
You can help us make sure that these valuable research studies continue to receive funding and keep moving forward. Sign up to join us at one of our Walk to End ALS events in June…the more money we raise, the more we can contribute to Research.
